Cloud Computing and Contractor’s Quality Control Plan (13th June 2011)
The Institution of Engineers India, Kuwait Chapter, conducted a seminar on 13th June 2011 at Holiday Inn, Downtown . Chairman, Engr. Sundararajan updated the gathering on activities of the Chapter and encouraged all to participate and be benefited from it’s  activities. Engr. Karunagaran introduced the speakers, Dr. Manik Dey who presented the topic, “Cloud Computing” and Dr. Rumane Abdul Razaak who spoke on, “Contractor’s Quality Control Plan”. Both the technical presentations were appreciated by all the guests and members and were highly interactive. General Secretary, Engr. Rishabh Nath Jain concluded the seminar by offering vote of thanks

Seminar on the topic of “|Current trends of Control System in High Rise Green Building” was delivered by Mr. Pugazhendi, a well renowned Engineer and expert in his field, on 29th March 2010 at Holiday Inn, Downtown Kuwait City


Pediatric Scientific Explanation of Common Disorders and Treatments(22nd January 2010)
The Institution of Engineers (India) Kuwait Chapter organised a seminar on "Pediatric Scientific Explanation of Common Disorders and Treatments” Jointly presented by a panel of eminent Child Specialists consisting of Dr. V. Satya Narayan, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Dr. N. Ram and Dr. Gaurav Jadon. The Topics of the Seminar ranged from Childhood Asthma, Adolescent Problems, Convulsions in Children and Prevention of Childhood Accidents. The event was organized on 22nd January 2010 at Holiday Inn, Downtown Kuwait city

Health being our prime focus 24/7, The IEI (India), Kuwait Chapter was deeply privileged to get this opportunity to have an esteemed gathering of eminent doctors enlightening them on important health issues of today. The Seminar covered details about existing problems and their cure underlining the importance of caution and prevention!! The presentations made were very clear and erased many common myths about day to day life.


CONSTRUCTABLITY PROPERTIES OF HIGH PERFORMANCE CONCRETE
The Institute of Engineers (India), Kuwait Chapter in association with ACIC Special Concrete Co., Conducted a seminar on the topic of “Constructability Properties of High Performance Concrete” by Dr. Saib Nackasha, CEO of M/s. Syna Engineering (Project Management),Ph.D in Civil Engineering (UK). The seminar was attended by a large number of distinguished guests from ministry, engineers working in consultancy and contracting firms. The audience appreciated the information shared by Dr. Saib Nackasha on latest trends in concrete technology.


 BUSINESS EXCELLENCE THROUGH QUALITY(12th November 2009)
The Institute of Engineers (India), Kuwait Chapter celebrated World Quality Day Co-sponsored by TCB Cert. Worldwide LLC (Training & Certification Bureau) on 12th November 2009. In 1990, the UN declared second Thursday of November as World Quality Day. World Quality Day encourages individuals and organizations to focus on the importance of quality, growth and prosperity, and demonstrate their commitment to Quality excellence.

Eng. M S Ray , Managing Director of TCB Cert Worldwide delivered a speech on “Business Excellence through Quality” and gave a brief of Historic Evolution of Quality ,Quality movements Worldwide including India, Contributions of Quality Gurus , EFQM Business Excellence model ,Role of IRCA and CQI in developing Certification programs for Auditors of Management System. Eng Ray started his speech with the most famous Quote of Bharat Ratna JRD TATA "One must forever strive for excellence or even perfection in any task - however small and never be satisfied with the second best"

The World Quality Day celebration was a source of great inspiration for all professionals. IEI-Kuwait chapter has decided to celebrate the World Quality Day every year to promote Quality as a driver for business and excellence

INTERIOR FLOORING AND BURIED CONCRETE PROTECTION(8th June 2009)
Henkel Polybit Industries, a subsidiary of Henkel AG & Co. conducted a technical presentation on 8th June 2009, Monday at the Kuwait Society of Engineers on following topics
- Interior Flooring-Self leveling floors.
- Buried concrete protection with self adhesive membranes

The presentation will be done by Mr. Thorsten Schneider, General Manager (Businees Development) Henkel Polybit Industries Limited, UAE.


VALUE ENGINEERING(20th April 2009)
Seminar on “ Value Engineering “ was delivered by Dr. Rumane Abdul Razzak,AVS on Monday 20th April 2009 at Kuwait Society of Engineers Hall

The speaker elaborated on various aspects of ‘Value Engineering’, which he said is used to optimize th
e value having relationship between function, performance, quality and cost of projects and also about the concept, purpose, objectives, goal, and benefits of ‘Value Engineering’. He explained various ‘Value Engineering’ stages such as pre study, workshop, and post study, and proceeded in details the six phases of workshop which will be part of ‘Value Engineering’ process.

The Institution of Engineers (India) Kuwait Chapter and Asian Concrete Industries Co. SEMINAR ON INFORMATION SECURITY MANAGEMENT [12-11-2006]
The Institution of Engineers (India) Kuwait Chapter conducted Seminar on "Information Security Management”. Seminar was presented by Engr Manik Dey. In the presentation he elaborated about the importance of security in the information system. The seminar focused on the basic principle of information security in an IT environment highlighting what it is, why it is important, what are the standards available to mange information security and how and information security frame work can be established, maintained and operated in an organization. SEMINAR ON CONSTANT FLOW AND VARIABLE FLOW IN WATER CIRCUITS IN HVAC SYSTEM
AND VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE [28-01-2007]
The Institution of Engineers (India) Kuwait Chapter conducted Seminar on "Constant Flow and Variable Flow in water circuits in HVAC system and Variable Frequency Drive. ” Engr Dalal presented first part of the covering details about different types of air conditioning systems and chilled water system. He discussed different types of combinations of chillers with other equipments of HVAC such as pumps, condenser, cooling towers etc. The concept was explained with the help of drawings and sketches showing various combinations. Engr. Jayakumar from SIEMENS on his part elaborated about variable speed drive for variable and constant torque applications. He explained the power saving with the help of variable speed by frequency modulation. He also discussed effects of harmonics and use of active and passive filters to reduce harmonics effects. The Institution of Engineers (India) Kuwait Chapter conducted Seminar on “POWER QUALITY SYSTEMS” at Kuwait Society of Engineers Premises. The seminar was delivered by Mr. Marco Roger Freres of Siemens from Germany. M/S Siemens sponsored this seminar. Mr Roger gave an over view of products from panel mounted power quality meters to Network quality systems used for real time fault analysis in High voltage Grids and International standards with case studies and reports from different countries.
